The Music Ministry of Sevierville First United Methodist offers something for everyone!
These choirs meet every Wednesday evening in the music room on the second floor by the elevator. The choirs sing during Advent Season for one of the Evening Advent Music Programs. They also sing for worship services; both traditional and contemporary during the school year.The choirs come together in the spring for a musical concert.
Faith Singers sing in both contemporary and traditional services. The choir also sings at retirement and nursing homes; as well as, host Young at Heart Luncheons for our senior citizens. Faith Singers also participates in the Evening Advent Music Programs in December. We have a great time of fun, fellowship and singing!
This choir is open to all adults interested in singing praise to the Lord and helping to lead the traditional worship services. The choir does a Christmas Cantata as part of the Evening Advent Music Programs. We sing an anthem at both the 8:30 and 10:45 traditional services; as well as responses and special music. We sing all genres of music from Bach, to gospel, to old-harp, to Wesley…..with a little Jazz rhythm thrown in for fun! Chancel Choir meets each Tuesday 6:00-7:15 in the choir room right off the sanctuary.
The handbell choir meets September-May. We have ringers from beginner to advanced; everyone is welcomed, even with limited music knowledge. The handbell choir plays for worship services several times a year and participates in the Evening Advent Music Programs. We meet every Tuesday; 5:00-6:00 in the handbell room on the second floor to the right of the elevator.
The Ladies' Ensemble is open to anyone who loves to sing but may not have the time to commit to Chancel Choir. This group sings for worship services and during the Advent season. We meet on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday evening of the month; September-May in the Chancel choir room off the sanctuary.
Men’s Chorus is for anyone who loves to sing and have a great time doing it! This group sings for worship services and during Advent. We enjoy doing many of the “old” hymns and spirituals; as well as, some more modern pieces. Men’s Chorus meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday evening of the month; September-May in the Chancel choir room off the sanctuary.
